ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The School runs a 3-term session which spans from September to July.
FIRST-TERM: CHRISTMAS TERM
This is from September to December each year.
It is a very important term as the children move to new classes.
New pupils and students are admitted mostly during this term.
We celebrate our country’s independence on our Cultural day. Pupils, Students and, Parents dress in their cultural attire to school to celebrate our rich heritage.
Other activities held during this term are Children’s Round Table, Intra-School Mathematics Competition and, a Christmas Party.
There is a three-week Christmas holiday.
SECOND-TERM: EASTER TERM
The Second Term of each session runs from January to March/April.
Subject to availability of space, new pupils/students may be admitted.
Academic day and Inter-house sports take place alternately during this term.
Possible activities during the Academic day include Academic review day, Open day, Book Fair, Career Talks by seasoned Professionals, Intra School Debate, Science Exhibition, Arts & Craft Exhibition and, various academic presentations by the children.
During the Academic review day, parents come in to interact with their class and headteachers; an opportunity to assess the general progress of the child.
Inter House Sports is an opportunity for the children to develop team spirit and sportsmanship while competing amongst themselves.
We have four houses namely;
1) King David’s House. Colour: Yellow Motto: Winners never quit
2) King Solomon’s House. Colour: Purple Motto: Wisdom is supreme
3) Pa Joseph’s House. Colour: Blue Motto: Dreams come true
4) St. Paul’s House Colour: Green Motto: Forward Ever
Parents are not left out as they too are assigned to houses and participate actively in every activity.
Our Inter-house Sports is indeed a family affair.
An Intra-School Debate Competition holds this term.
There is a three to four weeks holiday after this term.
THIRD-TERM: GRADUATION TERM
This runs from April/May to July every year.
The children go on an excursion during this term. For those in the Primary and Secondary, it is a time to be exposed to the practical dimensions of what they are taught in class. For Nursery children, it is a combination of learning while playing. A Day out with my Mum and Dad is specially organized for the pupils in the Pre Nursery and Nursery one classes- a day when mum and dad take time off work to have fun with their children.
An Intra-School Spelling Bee competition holds this term.
At the end of the term, we have the graduation and awards ceremony for final year Classes in Nursery, Primary and Secondary. It is also a time when diligent pupils, students, staff and parents are rewarded.
There is a six to eight weeks holiday after this term.
